What to expect in City Walk

City Walk hosts several retail and upscale gourmet outlets and blends London's street cafe culture along with high-end dining and entertainment options. It has a good blend of indoors and outdoor spaces that one can enjoy all year round. Dubai Mall metro station is just a five minutes’ drive from here - making it easy for commuters to get here and the area is situated on the opposite side of Downtown Dubai. Located at Al Safa Road between Al Wasl Road and Sheikh Zayed Road, City Walk provides easy access to different parts of the city.

City Walk is well-known amongst the locals, and you will find several of them enjoying this urban retail concept well into the evenings, from the various entertainment options including a cinema and Green Planet – a tropical biodome full of flora and fauna. This unique space is home to over 3,000 plants and animal species: with the sloths emerging to be favourites amongst children. There are plenty of live feeding opportunities that kids can view and experience. Major car showrooms such as Rolls Royce & Mercedes also find their homes at City Walk. The retail outlets include Sephora, ,3 Kicks, 7 for All Mankind, D1 Milano along with various other high-end brands. Pharmacies, supermarkets, an arena for concerts (The Coca-Cola arena) and a cinema are also located within the vicinity. Usually, a crowded place in the evenings, the central retail area hosts several activations. The area also hosts a bunch of dining outlets that vary from casual to high-end – some favourites include Sarabeth’s, Farzi café, L’Eto, Saya, Sugar Factory & L’occitane café. Occasionally, there are pop-up food trucks under the title of ‘Miami Vibes’ that come up near Green Planet that residents like to come out and enjoy in the evenings. The Valiant Clinic located within the space is also a world-class medical facility. Besides this, there are two main hotels in the area – La Ville Hotel & Suites as well as the Rove City Walk. Both these hotels have licensed dining establishments. Canadian University in Dubai has now made City Walk its primary campus – it offers a transfer option to a college in Canada and alternatively hands out accredited degrees from the UAE & Canada. It offers courses in architecture and interior design, communication arts and sciences, engineering, applied science and technology and management. Close by schools and nurseries within a short driving distance include Gems Jumeirah Primary School, Horizon English School and Honey Bee Nursery.

Due to its metropolitan and urban feel, City Walk has a lack of green spaces, but this is going to change soon with its new development Central Park that is due to be completed by 2025. The destination features lush foliage, quiet stretches of greenery, plenty of shade and areas to picnic and relax. In City Walk’s current developments, amenities include a community pool and gym. While the retail areas are not pet-friendly, the residences at City Walk allow pets.

FAQ

  • The most sought-after residential buildings in City Walk are those closest to Central Park, retail boulevards, and new premium releases. Top buildings include Crestlane, Central Park Plaza, Central Park Residences, Verve, and well-located low-rise blocks such as Residential Buildings 1, 5, 10, 13, 20, and 22 (Viridian), valued for layout quality, walkability, and long-term demand.

  • City Walk usually trades at a premium vs most of Business Bay because it’s lower-density, more “neighbourhood” than “tower district,” and has stronger end-user demand. Pricing often sits around secondary-to-prime Downtown levels depending on the building (older City Walk Residences vs newer Central Park / Crestlane), views, and walkability to the main promenades.

  • City Walk is one of the few central areas where you can genuinely walk downstairs to well-known concepts: Sarabeth’s (brunch), L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele (Neapolitan pizza), Allo Beirut (Lebanese street food), LIMA Dubai (Peruvian), and RARE Brasserie & Bar in the licensed district. Entertainment is anchored by Roxy Cinemas City Walk, plus constant pop-ups and events on the open-air boulevards.

  • Yes — and some are inside City Walk itself, including Honey Bee Nursery and Ladybird Nursery. Within the immediate Al Safa / Al Wasl corridor (short drive), you also have well-known school options such as Jumeirah College and Horizon English School, which is why City Walk works for families who want central living without feeling “high-rise only.”

  • City Walk sits at the Al Wasl Road / Al Safa Street junction, with fast access onto Sheikh Zayed Road via Exit D71—so Downtown, DIFC and Business Bay are typically quick drives. For public transport, the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro is the closest station (walk/taxi depending on weather), and City Walk is also served by several bus routes.

  • It’s a rare Dubai “city neighbourhood” feel: low-rise streets, shaded promenades, cafés, gyms, cinema, and services all integrated—so daily life is genuinely walkable. You get the energy of central Dubai, but with less tower congestion, more design-led public spaces, and an easy link to Jumeirah for beach days.

  • City Walk apartments typically feel more residential and lifestyle-led: fewer neighbours per building, less tower density, and you can walk to dining and entertainment without relying on a mall. Business Bay offers more inventory, more high-rise choice, and often sharper “numbers” for investors, but it can be more traffic-heavy and office-centric compared to City Walk’s urban-leisure vibe.

  • You’ll find studios to 3-bedroom apartments across the established low-rise City Walk Residences blocks, plus higher-end options in newer projects like Central Park at City Walk (e.g., Erin, Fern, Myrtle, Laurel, Celadon, Castleton, Viridian, Thyme) and new releases like Crestlane. There are also limited duplex and penthouse-style units in selected buildings, especially in the newer phases.
