This sophisticated mountain getaway seamlessly blends the beauty of nature & design

Tucked away in the Austrian Alps, Hotel Kitzhof Mountain Design Resort is inspired by old Tyrolean farmhouses. Designed by Uschi Schelle-Müller with architecture by Hochbau-Atelier, local materials have been used in context of a modern interior by co-owner Uschi Schelle-Müller.

Each room reflects this authenticity through details like salvaged paneling from old cabins, worn larch floorboards, regionally produced loden blankets, stag antlers, and leather for the sleek chairs.

The surrounding slopes of Kitzbühel are inhabited by the chamois, a native goat-antelope species navigating the rugged terrain. This iconic creature serves as a focal point in Ursula Schelle-Müller’s design concept, bridging contemporary minimalist lines with classic Alpine textures. In the lobby, sculpted wooden lampshades and bucket-shaped leather armchairs coexist with a reception desk crafted by a local cabinetmaker. The gardens seamlessly blend the boundaries between the mountainous landscape and a cityscape dotted with churches.

Kitz Alm offers guests the opportunity to indulge in local delicacies through wine tastings at the Vinothek. The summer terrace, adorned with a waterfall and pond, provides an idyllic setting, while the breakfast buffet stands out as one of the best. The spa features organic natural products from Susanne Kaufmann and multi-therapy sessions by Ericson Laboratoires Paris.
