The World development consists of over 300 man made islands, composed mainly of sand dredged from Dubai's shallow coastal waters, in the shape of a map of the world. The islands are divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands.
The residential islands will provide low rise buildings with stylish apartments, while some islands have been dedicated to villas and water homes. Some islands will be hotel resorts whilst others will provide shopping facilities and restaurants.
