Looking for a British school for your kids in Dubai? You've come to the right place. Here is a comprehensive list of British schools in some of the top communities in the city.

1. King's School

King's School has three different branches - the most popular one being in Nad Al Sheba near the Meydan and Sobha Hartland areas. This particular school has received outstanding ratings from the KHDA (Knowledge & Human Development Authority). It uses the National Curriculum for England as a framework. The school is well-known for providing assistance to students of different academic abilities, including those identified with special educational needs and additional educational needs. Fees vary from AED 42,734 to AED 65,037, depending on the year. 

2. Repton School

Also located in the Nad Al Sheba area, Repton School prides itself on its academic excellence and high outstanding ranking by the KHDA since 2014. Spanning 1.3 million square feet, it also has boarding houses for children. Fees vary from AED 52,863 to AED 95,000 per year.

3. Hartland International School

A relatively new school, Hartland International School follows the National Curriculum for England and is the flagship school in the Sobha Hartland community at Mohammed bin Rashid city. A year at Hartland International School can range between AED 49,750 for FS1 students to AED 78,000 for Year 13 students. The focus of the school lies around "academic challenge, enrichment opportunities and pastoral support."

4. Swiss International Scientific School

A bilingual day and boarding school, Swiss International Scientific School located in Dubai Healthcare City, has a diverse number of students from more than 60 countries, enabling your child to have a truly international experience. They like to focus on healthy eating, active living and a positive environment for their students. There are plenty of sports activities on offer as well. Parents have their own committee as well. Fees range from AED 60,o00 for pre-kindergarten to AED 120,000 for Grade 11 students for a year. The school follows the IB (International Baccalaureate) program and is pending Year 12 approval from the KHDA.

5. Cambridge International School

One of the older schools in Dubai, Cambridge International School is based on the National Curriculum for England (NCfE). The school is divided into two Sections: the Primary (Kindergarten to Year 6) and the Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 13). The School prepares students for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) course, the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and A Level Examinations of the Universities of Cambridge and London (UK). It is also an approved centre for the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and for London University. The closest freehold community to this school would be Culture Village. Fees range between AED 17,825 for first year students to AED 24,202 for year 12-13 students. 

6. Gems Winchester School

This school also follows the National Curriculum for England. It's located in Oud Metha, not far from the Za'abeel freehold community. It offers education for Foundation Stage 2 to Year 11 students. Tuition fees vary from AED 11,261 for FS2 students to AED 19,473 per year for Year 10-11 students.

7. Jumeirah English Speaking School (Jess)

JESS Dubai has two branches in prime locations - one being in Jumeirah and the other in the Arabian Ranches area. The focus at this school is for creative and critical thinking. The yearly rates for the foundation course is at AED 39,030 to AED 91,950 for sixth form (years 12 and 13).

8. Gems Wellington Primary School

Also offering the National Curriculum for England (NCfE), GEMS Wellington Primary School offers classes from Foundation Stage to Year 6. Fees range from AED 42,508 for FS1 to AED 53,582 for FS2 to Year 6. This school is well located close to the DIFC metro stations.

9. Jumeirah Baccalaureate School

Another school in the Jumeirah area, with close accessibility to City Walk, Jumeirah Baccalaureate school operates around core values like wellbeing, innovation, high expectations and inclusion. With over 65 different nationalities within its student population, it has a very international approach. The school is one of the only schools in the region that is fully accredited to offer all four International Baccalaureate Programmes; the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP) and the Career-Related Programme (CP). The school was rated "very good" in 2017-18 by the KHDA. Annual fees vary from AED 56,131 for Pre KG to KG2 all the way to AED 87,228 for years 11 and 12.

10. Horizon English School

Located in the heart of Jumeirah, Horizon English School is a primary school that offers British curriculum. It has received an 'Outstanding' rating by the KHDA. Fees range from AED 39,672 to AED 53,570 per year, depending on the year.

11. Safa British School

Located close to the Business Bay area, Safa British School offers Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 2 (from 3-11 years of age). It follows The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework for Foundation Stage learning (FS1 and FS2) and is consistent with the English National Curriculum. The fees range from AED 28,707 for FS1 to AED 41,988 for Year 6 students.

12. The English College

Another school in the Al Safa area, The English College follows the British curriculum from FS1 to Year 13. Fees range from AED 33,500 for FS1 to AED61,675 for Year 13. 

13. St Mary's Catholic High School

One of the older schools in the region, St. Mary's Catholic School located in the Oud Metha area is also known to be one of the most affordable ones that offer a British education. The school follows the British Syllabus, preparing children for the London Board Examinations at GCSE / IGCSE and GCE Level. Year 1 fees are at AED 8,322 and Year 13 costs AED 16,117 annually.

14. Gems Founders School

Located in Al Barsha, GEMS Founders School is located close to the Dubai Hills community (which is also rumoured to have a new school in the vicinity soon). This school is one of the more reasonably priced ones, with AED 22,000 for FS1 students to AED 33,000 for Year 12 students.

15. Jumeirah College

Jumeirah College located in the Umm Suqueim area consistently ranks as an outstanding school by the KHDA. It is a secondary school for 11- to 16-year-olds with a sixth form for 16- to 18-year-olds. Fees for Year 7 is AED 71,508 up to AED 89,385 for Year 13 students.

16. Gems Metropole School Al Waha

17. Gems Firstpoint School

GEMS FirstPoint School offers earning through the National Curriculum, for England for children from Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 13 (age 3-18). Through their EMS Centre of Excellence for Digital Industries and Sustainability, the school establishes unique partnerships that give students the opportunity to embark on internships alongside their education with world-renowned companies such as Siemens, providing diverse opportunities and expanding their knowledge beyond the classroom.
