If you're a fan of golf, there's little doubt that you won't find your way down to the Montgomerie Golf Club in the Emirates Hills area. As soon as you set foot on the 18-hole championship golf course (affectionally known as The Monty, you can be assured you're rubbing shoulders with Dubai's elite.
The golf course is named after Scottish golf player, Colin Montgomery. The course runs over 265 acres and is an 18 hole links style championship golf course. One of the most notable holes is called the 'snake hole' on the par fourth. It's a "saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with two bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake." The par 3 thirteenth is a hole designed in the shape of the UAE. This course remains accessible and challenging throughout the year.
In addition to this, it also has a golf academy with a 9-hole par 3 floodlit course.
The facilities are amazing, with a plunge pool available in the locker rooms. As the golf course is connected to the Address Montgomerie, you can take advantage of both the spa and dining facilities available as well. The club often holds various tournaments so you can stay on top of your game.
Formal golf attire is expected to be worn throughout your time on the course. You need to be over 16 years of age and have a driving licence in order to drive the golf carts. The handicap for women is 28 & men is 36.
The golf club is open all week between 6am and 7pm. If you book using your U By Emaar membership, you're eligible for plenty of discounts on booking.
