Who says money can't buy you happiness? When you are cruising around the city in one of these supercars that only a handful of people have ever dreamt of owning, you will believe that it can. The only kryptonite for these cars is an empty fuel tank. If you are a motorhead, then you have landed on the right page. Let's pay homage to some of the worlds's most expensive cars. 

Dubai is the Middle East's top city for luxury spending. The city has a unique way of defining luxury, It can be well defined by the kind of vehicles driven in the country. In Dubai luxury is the way of life and not an alternative.

1. Rolls Royce Boat Tail Us$ 28 Million

Cruising on the roads of Dubai this year, the world's most expensive new car, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, made a striking appearance with its staggering price tag of $28 million. This bespoke masterpiece, finished in a captivating 'Oceanic Blue', was specially commissioned by a loyal Rolls-Royce customer from the Middle East. 

Interestingly, rumours have been swirling that American music power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce were among the clients who approached Rolls-Royce for their tailor-made versions of this extraordinary ride. Despite the vehicle's high profile, the identities of these three patrons have remained shrouded in secrecy for nearly two years since the car's unveiling. 

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, inspired by classic boats and nautical elements, draws aesthetic inspiration from the elegant yachts of the 1920s and 1930s. Although the car shares its chassis and engine with the Rolls-Royce Phantom, it boasts 1,813 bespoke parts, including five electronic control units in the rear deck. The first of the three meticulously crafted cars showcases a remarkable parasol that extends from the rear deck in a mesmerizingly inverted manner reminiscent of a blooming flower. 

The car's interior is a marvel of sophistication and luxury, featuring rotating cocktail tables, matching stool seats and a complete set of Christofle tableware. Additionally, two fridges are adorned with a colour scheme that mirrors the elegant Armand de Brignac champagne bottles. The deck of the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is meticulously finished in Caleidolegno veneer, creating a butterfly shape when hinged towards the centre at an angle of 67 degrees. Inside the car, the bespoke touches continue to impress, with matching pairs of men's and women's watches by Bovet Fleurier, each featuring a tiny sculpture of the car on its dial. These exquisite timepieces can be worn as wristwatches, desk clocks, or pocket watches, and they can also be placed in a titanium enclosure on the car's dashboard, functioning as a striking centrepiece. 

 The attention to detail continues with a custom-made Bose Corporation sound system, ingeniously utilizing the car's floor structure as a resonance chamber to deliver an unrivalled audio experience. Other luxurious features include a Montblanc pen nestled in a meticulously hand-crafted case within the glove box and instrument panel dials adorned with intricate guilloché decorative work. 

 Measuring an impressive 19 feet in length, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail derives its power from the signature 6.75-liter V12 engine emblematic of Rolls-Royce vehicles. Surprisingly, despite its substantial weight of 2,100 kg, this opulent automobile boasts impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just five seconds and reaching a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The car reaches 62mph in 2.4 seconds and has a top speed of 261mph. 

The historic "Voiture Noire" was last sighted in February 1941 during the turmoil of war, appearing on a list of cars being transported to Bordeaux in a country gripped by disruption. In a contemporary homage to this iconic vehicle, the modern tribute aspires to bask in the limelight for an extended period. Under the hood, the Bugatti Centodieci is an awe-inspiring performer, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 2.4 seconds, reaching 0 to 200 km/hr in just 6.1 seconds, and achieving 0 to 300 km/hr in a mere 13.1 seconds. The top speed of this extraordinary vehicle is electronically limited to 380 km/hr, making it a true force to be reckoned with on the roads. With a curb weight of 1,976 kg, the Centodieci effortlessly blends power and precision, making it a driving experience like no other.

8. Mercedes Maybach Exelero Us$8 Million

The Exelero's creation was commissioned by Fulda, a German subsidiary of Goodyear, to test their new Carat Exelero tyre range. In collaboration with Maybach, the initial design concept for the Exelero drew inspiration from the Maybach SW 38, and the car was built on the platform of the Maybach 57. An essential requirement from Fulda was that the Exelero should be able to exceed speeds of 350 km/h, allowing the Exelero tyres' physical limits to be tested. As a result, the Exelero was meticulously designed to deliver impressive speed and performance. The final design of the Maybach Exelero emerged from the creative minds of four students from the esteemed Transportation Design School of Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, a testament to their ingenuity and expertise in crafting this unparalleled automotive masterpiece.
